Born from a lifelong love of horses and a passion for the equestrian community.
For Megan, the founder of Calvert Equestrian, horses have always been a part of life. Having ridden throughout her life and continuing to own and ride horses today, she understands the everyday responsibilities and enjoyment that come with horse ownership.
From preparing for a ride to the routines of looking after horses, that experience has shaped her understanding of the equipment and practical essentials that horse owners use regularly.
It was this longstanding connection with horses that eventually led Megan towards a career in equestrian retail and, later, the decision to establish a business of her own.
Before starting Calvert Equestrian, Megan worked in a local equestrian shop, gaining experience in the retail side of an industry she already knew well as a rider and horse owner.
Working in equestrian retail gave her an understanding of the different products available, the brands behind them and the questions customers have when looking for suitable equipment.
Over time, Megan decided she wanted to establish her own shop. Calvert Equestrian grew from that ambition, bringing together her personal experience with horses and her knowledge of equestrian retail.
An important part of developing the business has been building relationships with equestrian brands and creating an independent online shop where customers can explore equipment, clothing and everyday essentials for horse and rider.
Calvert Equestrian is the next chapter in Megan's involvement with horses, combining an interest that has been part of her life for as long as she can remember with the opportunity to build something of her own.
